Fun in West Palm Beach.

We spent a lot of time waiting for connecting flights at JFK in NYC.  We ate lots of pizza here.

On our last trip Nathan took this picture as a pro Jets player running a football--how fitting!

We adopted a sea turtle named Gilda.  We chose to adopt Gilda because she has been there every visit and she seemed to parallel Nathan's journey to fix his problem (read the similarities in her bio).  For more turtle pics, scroll down.

A quick visit to City Place shopping center for dinner the night before fixator removal surgery...

This was our home away from home, thanks to our friends the Bivone family.

We had some time to drive to Lake Worth, FL where my grandparents had a winter condo.  3530 Lazy Pine Way.  I visited here twice when I was a kid.

You can imagine the look of horror on my face when I saw the sign right outside their condo that read "NO...MOTORCYCLES".  Must be a really fun place ;-)

We often visit the Loggerhead Marinelife Center near where we are staying.  Nathan really likes the hatchlings and all the turtles. He knows a lot about them, ask next time you see him.  Laurie and I have grown attached to them, too. We learn more and more about these turtles each time we visit.

These are hatchling sea turtles brought to the center by people that find them lost on the beach.  When they get a large group they bring them out in a boat and release them.

These two pictures are of a turtle named Turtwig.  He has air in his system somewhere that may be the result of scar tissue from injuries sustained by a boat propeller.  He floats more than he should and this is not very good for him.  The picture on the left is Turtwig freaking out and splashing around.  The volunteers were even surprised by this behavior.

This is Gilda.  She has been at the center for about one year.  This turtle was hurt bad by a boat propeller and the result was the loss of her right front flipper (and she was pretty banged up elsewhere).  The vets used metal bone plates so her bones would heal correctly (sound familiar?).  We all thought it was touching that just like Nathan, she will have to go through physical therapy before they release her.

The Jet Blue TVs!

We are thoroughly entertained on the airplane.

Palm Beach Lamborghini

An extremely rare and expensive hand-made unit.

Remarkably, this is the only stick shift unit in the place (paddle shift the norm now). And yes, even Nate towers over this car.

This one had some finger prints already on the window, so the salesman let Nate sit in this one.  It is only 258 grand.
