I said "screw it" and rode my bike today.   I don't care if it's winter and just 2 weeks ago I winterized it.

Today it was sunny and in the high 30's.  Some snow was on the ground but snow, ice, and salt have pretty much vanished and the roads were clean as a whistle.

I read a tip on the Internet about cold weather riding in bib overalls.  I recently received some as a gift. 

Damn these things work!  I rode for a good hour through the country.  Not 2 miles from my house I saw another bike (the only one I saw). 

Bottom line:   winter riding is not only do-able, but enjoyable with the right gear...

Here's what I wore:

• winter gauntlet-style gloves
• overall bibs (good to -20)
• riding jacket with zipped in lining
• sweatshirt & t-shirt
• full-face helmet
• winter hiking boots

*My large windshield was also essential for comfort.
